The capacity to act with integrity rests fundamentally on the integration of the personality
- (Margaret Cohen)
Living with integrity requires psychological development through dialogue. Particularly in mid-life, one needs to pay attention to internal and external conflicts.
Psychotherapy is a specific kind of conversation, designed to explore meaning, purpose and direction in life. Such conversations do not happen for most of us in our daily lives. We will work together to create a regular and safe space for deep conversations about your life. The experience of being respectfully heard and listening to oneself is surprisingly helpful. The process of psychotherapy can unlock natural growth processes and alleviate emotional and health problems. Ultimately, the benefits derive from the life-changing magic of knowing your own psychology. When you know yourself better, life does not become easy but is easier to navigate.
I do not offer a cure, simply my engaged presence in our conversation. Sometimes such witnessing can be curative.
I have been helping people manage emotional and psychological distress for three decades. I trained at Metanoia Institute and gained a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. I am registered with the UKCP as a Psychotherapist and the HCPC as a Counselling Psychologist. I am an associate at Number 42 and Phoenix Therapy Practice. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor. I feel confident about my ability to offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
Talking and walking the path with someone trained to help might be just what you need.
